NOC Engineer

You will manage high-level monitoring activities and coordinate maintenance work for Pakistan-HNS VSAT systems to minimize service disruptions. This position requires proactive problem solving and the ability to escalate critical outages swiftly to the Duty NOC Manager. Your daily operations include thorough root cause analysis, effective ticket management using ticketing systems, and delivering excellent operational support for Pakistan SVNO and Gigstarter customers. In addition, you will provide service delivery support for new installations, upgrades, relocations and restorations. This includes coordinating with field partners and customers on site readiness, supporting remote commissioning and executing acceptance testing.

The role also requires responding to local support calls and ensuring that maintenance activities align with the needs of clients such as Supernet and JAZZ. While this role does not include team management duties, it demands strong communication skills, problem-solving capabilities, and a solid understanding of network monitoring and maintenance procedures. We are recruiting one headcount for NOC engineer based in Pakistan, with consideration for cost efficiency and manpower diversification, and a strategic focus on strengthening service reliability and delivery execution in the Pakistan market.

Criteria 

  • Proficient in spoken and written English
  • Experience with VSAT platforms
  • Experience in remote VSAT installation
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • Mobile backhaul knowledge is an added advantage

Requirements:

  • Monitor and manage Pakistan network operations during the specified shift from 6:00 PM to 3:00 AM SGT (3:00 PM to 12:00 AM PKT).
  • Provide occasional coverage during Singapore NOC weekend shifts when Singapore NOC personnel are unavailable.
  • Conduct continuous fault isolation and troubleshooting on K1 infrastructure components including Teleport, VSAT, Satellite, and Terminal systems.
  • Manage and prioritize support for Pakistan SVNO and Gigstarter customers, ensuring timely resolution of network issues and maintaining service quality.
  • Handle ticketing system operations by accurately logging, tracking, and resolving network incidents and service requests.
  • Coordinate and perform maintenance activities on Pakistan-HNS VSAT systems, typically starting early morning hours to minimize service impact.
  • Collaborate with Supernet and JAZZ service providers to schedule and execute VSAT maintenance tasks effectively.
  • Perform root cause analysis for network faults and service disruptions to prevent recurrence and improve network reliability.
  • Escalate critical outages and major service interruptions to the Duty NOC Manager promptly to ensure rapid resolution.
  • Support local phone call assistance for customers as part of comprehensive network support duties.
  • Maintain detailed records of network incidents, maintenance activities, and operational performance reports.
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures, safety standards, and company policies to maintain high service standards.
  • Stay informed about emerging network technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the NOC environment.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting VSAT service delivery activities such as new site activations, upgrades, relocations, and restorations.
  • Able to coordinate effectively with field partners and customers, including scheduling, providing clear instructions, performing evidence-based troubleshooting, and escalating when blockers occur.
