Site Engineer
Job Purpose:
To do installation and commissioning of passive telecommunications infrastructure nationwide as per KTower installation guideline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and commissioning of telecom passive infrastructure DC power cabinet, battery, Generator, wind turbine, VSAT, CCTV, Weather station Solar structure with panels, and Grid power (If available)
- Ensure all cable terminations are done based on the updated documentation (Single Line Diagram, Cabling plan…)
- Ensure the labelling is done properly.
- Ensure all solar structures and panels are installed according to the installation documents (layout, structural design).
- Ensure all infrastructure is installed according to the installation documents (layout, design, etc.).
- Check the site-wise equipment Bill of Quantity (BOQ) at the regional warehouse, with the logistics Sub-contractor
- After the site handover to MNO, ensure all extra material is returned to the regional warehouse when applicable
- After the site handover to MNO, make a final BOQ and layout of the site as per installed equipment for as- built
- Ensure that all configurations of all the controller, generator, BMS,VSAT etc are done properly. If required, perform the configuration on-site as per the latest configuration file.
- Ensure all systems are online and on-site parameters are matching with RMS parameters
- Ensure power cutover is done correctly.
- Contact the MNO and other necessary stakeholders for the cutover and acceptance.
- Fill the acceptance checklist with MNO representative
- If there are any snags during acceptance, clear the snags
- Provide on-site technical support and guidance to field technicians.
- Oversee site-level power systems, fuel management, energy optimization, remote monitoring systems (RMS), cleanliness/hygiene, and general infrastructure upkeep.
- I& C commissioning of telecom active equipment (BSS, Core & Transmission)
- Monitor and ensure the quality installation work aiming to enhance reliability, safety, and performance of all passive infrastructure equipment.
- Perform tower climbs when required for installing CCTV, weather stations, or inspecting tower infrastructure (with valid certification).
- Apply continuous improvement principles, aiming to reduce faults, minimize downtime, control operating costs, and improve infrastructure lifespan and performance.
- Support CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives to strengthen community relationships and ensure smooth site operations.
- Facilitate seamless Hand-Over and Take-Over (HOTO) processes where applicable.

Requirements & Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of telecom passive infrastructure.
- Knowledge of telecom active equipment (BSS, Core & Transmission equipment)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering (B.E./B.Tech).
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in telecom passive infra installation, commissioning and operations, particularly in power systems (solar, batteries, generators, wind power).
- Strong planning, organizational, and vendor management capabilities.
- Willingness to travel frequently to remote and rural site locations.
- Certified in tower climbing and working at heights.
- Certified to work on grid line and professional electricians
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
